Simply Cornish Hampers Closure

Posted by Cornish Hampers on

Simply Cornish Hampers ceased trading on 31 October 2019, we (CornishHampers.com) have bought the domain name www.simplycornishhampers.com from the previous owners so that we can help serve Simply Cornish Hampers previous customers with delicious food gifts from Cornwall, we are however a completely separate company.

Simply Cornish Hampers were owned by FS Group who operate other brands: Cornwall Gold, The Cornish Pantry Restaurant and Cornwall Pearl from the Cornish Gold & Tolgus Mill retail complex and visitor centre near Redruth. The jewellery showroom at Cornish Gold is the country’s largest and Tolgus Mill is Cornwall’s only remaining tin streaming works.

The Reason for Closing Simply Cornish Hampers

The company cited not being able to recover from flood damage in 2017 as the main reason for their decision to close Simply Cornish Hampers. The premises once occupied by Simply Cornish Hampers is in quite a prominent location with good foot traffic, perhaps it was deemed that putting a different type of business in there could generate more income for Cornish Gold.

Simply Cornish Hampers History

Simply Cornish Hampers was launched in 2005 making it one of the longest trading regional hamper companies. Initially, sales were online only but after a year of trading Simply Cornish Hampers opened a trade counter at its Redruth warehouse for local orders. It then moved to have a shop at Redruth Treasure Park which is now called Cornish Gold & Tolgus Mill. At one point Simply Cornish Hampers also had a second outlet at Cornish World Market in St. Austell.

  • Sad to hear Simply Cornish Hampers have closed.
I ordered from them on occasions and found the service impeccable, the help and friendliness second to none.
